bush is the first presidential candidate to get the MAJORITY of americans in the popular vote for 14 years. the last was his father.
clinton got around 46% of the vote both terms.
also, this election is the first in a very long time that one party has gained in the senate and the house and won the presidency. the republicans have continued their domination of the senate and house.
no matter what you hear on TV, and all the newspaper stories you get bombarded with, the united states is not bastion of liberalism, liberals are just loud and obnoxious, whereas conservitives are just there and they vote. 3.6 million more votes... bush won 30 states, kerry 20.

Democrats pored over election results and sadly determined that the GOP base was bigger, more rural, suburban and Hispanic than they had ever imagined.

He would have had the majority of the vote if the Independent candidate wasn't so popular. And if you must, Gore WON the popular vote in 2000 so what does that vote matter. It doesn't

look, i don't totally disagree with you.
I think that we should "get" whoever is behind all this. What i am saying is that not all is well in the union today. some people are very happy with the rest of us in fear. I am an american. my father is a veteran. I want the fight to be for the right reasons. I think soldiers should not be questioning what there fighting for. if they don't know, and know for sure, what the hell are they doing it for?
