Kev's been working out. :P
If you want to weld like a pro, get an automatic helmet. I can't weld with a regular mask. Well, I can't really weld with an auto mask either, but it's way better.

Not trying to thread jack but Will the welder at wal-mart be sufficient to do things such as charge pipes and exhaust? It's a little cheap thing like $90. Not sure what type but its 70 amps I think.

THREAD JACK:
I just did some fantastic welding with my El-cheapo Ebay welder. I found out that the spool works alot better as it gets smaller. It keeps getting clogged up and turns into a rats nest. This ---- is nasty, but it works. I can't pick on ANYBODY too bad because my ---- looks like *** too.
I welded a 2.25" into a 2.5" pipe. It was a bitch, but it actually worked.
For reference, this is the welder I used:
Sorry for the thread jack.
EDIT: Just found my new avatar.

It's good enough for the girls I go out with. :P
That spatter ---- was all over my garage floor. It makes a nasty mess. I don't really weld enough to need a big expensive setup, so this works for me. This was only the 3rd time I ever used it in like 1 year.
