CD burning aggravation, any ideas geeks? Bout to just kill someone.
Every time I burn a CD, I get partway thru and it freezes up. Light on the burner stops flashing, and it just sits at whatever % it wants.
Have burned several CD's in the past with success.
Any thoughts?
Also, what programs are you guys using to burn iso image format? I am having this trouble using Nero Express, pretty recent version.

I use Nero (full version, i have one if u need it), Roxio, and discjuggler. Are you running other programs while burning? if so you might be runnin outta memory and using too much of yer CPU

Ever since my last "Windows upgrade" my burner has been acting up on me. It really pisses me of sometimes. I can't burn alot of songs I have burned in the past and I can't burn playlists anymore. I have to transfer each individual song into the burn thing, and even then most of the time it ***** up. It used to work flawlessly. Some of my songs don't have a "length" on them so it gets all confused when I try to burn one of thsoe and says "will not fit" and nothing happens.

Doc boost, you didnt install SP2 by chance did you?
Try reinstalling the software. Also, don't do anything while it is copying, my grandfathers computer just went ---- one day and stopped wanting to burn CD's unless you were doing absolutely nothing at all

its either your program settings, your firmware for the drive, your settings on the drive(master, slave), or your drive is just fucked. my homeboy had both of his cd/dvd drives jumpers set to master. i dont know how, but both drives actually worked? anyway, when he asked me to look at why he keeps making coasters/frisbees, it turned out to be the jumpers. make sure you set one to master, one to slave, and put the ide cable on correctly. i doubt the firmware is an issue, since you have already made successful burns. you can check for a firmware flash from the manufacturer if you want though. maybe uninstall/reinstall the program, or try another? just tossing out suggestions.
anyways i use nero in windows and k3b in linux/unix.
