mp3car.com for all sorts of good details.
The composite quality is crap. Games look good and movies but forget about reading any text maiing it useless for incar tuning. Trust me I tried the cheap route heh. As for GPS you can pick up a reciever for around 70-80 bucks and run any frontend software you want. Maybe if Hotrex had a carpc where he could actualy TUNE a ------- motor they might last more than a week.

For the HD its a plain old desktop internal Western digital 7200rpm 200gb. Its screwed directly to the car chassis. At 155db the vibrations are insane. I am shocked its held up but its been doing good. My quarter panels flex quite a bit from the pressure along with my hatch, front windshield and front fenders. I had to hotglue the vid card and all the pci cards in AND brace the ---- out of them. They kept popping out. I use a 300watt inverter thats on a switch I just manualy shut it down. I have forgot to a few times and still had plenty of juice the next day to start the car. Then again...I have a dual Optima battery setup
