Default Is this car worth getting?

For $5000....... 97 Civic DX Hatchback in RED
-driven by an old man who wants a bigger car
-no mods
-140,000 miles
-interior is in great shape..... non-smoker owner.
-No major dents except dings here and there
-I looked everywhere for any signs of past wreckage, no bent frames nor signs of frames that were hammered. I could really careless about the mileage on the engine since I plan on doing a B20 swap and turbo anyway within a few months. It does have an "SRS" light which I have no clue what causes it to stay lit. Any ideas?

Thank you for your time

SRS is the airbag. Why it might be on, I don't know. With the money that your gonna tie up in the b20 swap, I would find a 92-95 to reduce the car cost and save for the swap. IMO

SRS=airbags or something related to the airbags need to be looked at.
Thats a pretty good price. Most EG hatches Ive seen in auto trader are going for about 3-4k so to find an EK for that is pretty good.Milage is high but if your going to ditch the engineI guess it doesnt matter.

Yeah man... I looked around. That is actually the cheapest I found except a 91 CRX for the same price already modded with basic bolt ons. What I like about this car the best is that there is no mod. Only 2 previous owner that came from the same family. Everything else that I have been seeing around here has an auto tranny. I found another car (92-95 civic HB) for $6000 with 130K miles and semi-modded.

I'd be cautious when buying a car that has been modded or upgraded, probaly means that someone else has driven the hell out of it...
