Car cranks but wont start.... after fire. *pics*!!
I've been working on putting a turbo on my 240... (KA don't worry) and I'm almost done.... I was a lazy bitch and tried to put the oil return on the pan when it was still on the car... bad idea. After grinding, welding, jb welding, and still having a huge oil leak, i realized i needed to take the pan off. To lay a better bead, i towed the car to my school auto shop.. good welders there as opposed to fluxcore. but that didn't work either, but i needed to get the car home somehow. because my safc settings were screwed up- i think -, the car limped the 2 miles from school to my house. Right before getting home the car died and there was smoke coming out of the hood... ----.... I popped the hood and half the hood was on fire. It turns out the o2 sensor was too high up and it caught it. A kind passerby fire extinguishered my car, but another person still felt the need to call the fire dept. When it was all said and done, my hood insulation was burnt off but not really any engine burn problems, i dont think. no wires or anything got burned. The problem is that the reason i stopped and saw the fire was because the car died. I've changed the oil pan with one that doesn't leak, but now my car won't start! it has spark, and it is turning over... and occasionally it sounds like it's gonna catch, but it doesn't. I'm stumped at what could be the problem? The one idea I had was that it was running too rich and fucked the spark plugs... but idk. Any ideas?

your car caught fire, even if it turns over and you have spark, you have to check every single wire, every single vacuum line, every single hose, everything.
You might have one sensor that got burnt, or one wire that got burned and it is preventing the car from going. This ---- aint easy. Take it easy and triple check everything.
gas-spark-power, then check sensors.
sucks for you, but let this be an example to everyone else, don't cut corners on things that are neccesary, do it right the first time
