Population of NYS is 19 million , canada is 33 million

From what I read from CNN, the guy that was killed was asleep and the guy attacked him. I was thinking, maybe the guy pissed him off? But no, he was ------- sleeping.
The other people said the killer seemed normal, wonder what happened.
