i was under the impression that they cant since they too are moving. wouldnt it mess with the speed im going? like it would make me seem like im going faster than i actually am? reason i ask is i just got a ticket for 74 in a 60 and thats only cuz he was nice and didnt give me the full 86 mph i was doing. now im not bitching or complaining, and i plan on paying it without too much of a fight cuz i haven't taken dd driving yet this year. just want to know if they can do that or if this sherrif was just ------- me.

newer radar guns can calculate ur speed by factoring in the patrol cars current speed too...

i think they can drive the same speed your going and say if your speeding or not?..
and if their driving behind you wouldn't the radar read your going slower?

the laser joints do it moving, in the opposite direction and even have a cool little feature that allows them to randomly aim at a pack and the gun singles out shich is going the fastest and by how much.

My fiance just got plucked out of a crowd with one. Court explained it all for us, appearntly Bad News VA just gottem and the judge and cop were more than happy to brag all about it.

Cool thing is RADAR detecters are illegal. But Lasar Jammers are perfectly legal.

yeah he was going the opposite direction to me. and it was around a corner, he hit the brakes and got the the side of the road almost the instant he saw me. it was a sherrif though and they are much better equipped that local police around here. oh well.

they've had VASCAR i think it's called for years, a couple buttons they press when you pass 2 objects, and when they pass the same 2 objects. uses their cars odometer and time between button pushes to calculate your speed and their speed.

god knows what all types of ---- the new stuff can do.

Awesome, I'm in VA and I got nailed with a laser a few months ago, so I should find one of those jammers. The cop brought the laser up to me, the thing was awesome. It was the size of a handgun and it targetted the car with a red-dot scope type thing and it even had a headsup display right on the viewfinder.

I've been pulled over three times by cops traveling in the opposite direction, and they had a very accurate idea of my speed. Once by what seemed to be a rookie cop in Georgia, flew across the grass median on the highway from the other side and chased me, then proceeded to act like a scared -----, and searched me and my car and found nothing even though the car was completely clean except for a bag of clothes in the back seat with a crown royal bag full of contraband Another time, I had just turned into a neighborhood here, went over a hill and a cop came over at the same time, threw his car into a u-turn and pulled me over for 50 in a 35. And another time when a cop supposedly saw me go 55 around a 90 degree turn in my stock civic and keep speeding, did a uturn and chased me...barely failed the breathalyzer and they made Doug (the drunker of us) drive.

So, yes.
