I just put a deposit down for a motor at the junkyard, and I kinda wanna know what's up with this car. I can't remember if the carfax will say anything about the motor, but I'd like to know if it's dead or not. I only paid $150 for the whole thing (b18a from '91 teg), so even if I need to rebuild it it's not a bad deal.

did you turn the crank and makre sure it isnt seized? it could be anyhting if the car hasent been hit and most likly its the motor.

No, actually I didn't, and honestly, unless a sleeve is cracked I don't care, because I can just rebuild it this summer. They don't guarantee that the motor runs, but they do guarantee that it's rebuildable.

There is no front end damage so I assumed that it was the motor, but the top of the car has bondo cracking out all over like it has been in a pretty bad wreck before, so I wondered if maybe something else has sent it to the junkyard instead.

just hope it was like mine, itstarted up but smoke was poreing out of the tailpipe. bad rings big tiem and 8 qt's of oil lol
