Thats why I only charge about 40% of what shops charge for honda maint.
Get me more side jobs making money working o cars when I'm not a work (which I dont do much there at all either).

Hardly 17 an hour in california is solid pay. Most of california is very poor/ghetto and he lives in an area like that I know cause I spent half my life in the area.

The real estate market made it seem like California was expensive now you can get houses that are your typical house for the low 100's so do that math 17 an hour with a 600 dollar mortage and another income your doing fine.

UTI is scam. Dude keep hitting up all the small shops I had alot of friends making 40K+years ago in antelope valley has mechanics.

Now the difference is San Francisco houses are worth millions for a 1000 sq ft home

Drive 30 miles and that house is 150k and you get the Joys of poverty, getting robbed cops treating everyone like criminals. The works california is great

Stop looking at dealerships and look independently. Most of the guys working at these independent places are degenerates and if you are reasonably smart and together they will hire you for $15+ an hour. Years ago dealerships were the place to work because they paid really well. Now all the car companies are sucking wind and guess what? Techs are not going to be paid well. They are going to keep you doing the grunt work at $10 an hour as long as they can because it isn't profitable to have you get paid more and plus it keeps the other guys hours lower since they don't get caught up in all of these other jobs. It's smart business for them. Not you.

This is a great approach for cute girls who are going to get knocked up and become house wives. Terrible for men. He might suck wind now wrenching, but at least he is building a resume which will get him a better job later on in his field. What is waiting tables going to get you? Waiting tables is a quick fix. I will say waiting tables is a quick and easy way to make a decent amount of money. It's a stupid easy job that requires minimal effort and thought. If anyone says otherwise, they are a liar.

Wow 10 an hour in cali? I was offered 15 when I asked about being transfered to San Diego as we have a location there. I was like umm how can I afford to live on that with my family? I was talking to Raffi about housing and he said he pays like 1500 for the apartment he's living in. He's like the shipping supervisor lived in TJ and he lives like a king and just drives across the border everyday. As the facility is like just blocks from the border in Chula Vista. I'm like I'm not ------- living in TJ. My stepdaughter is white as day probably get kidnapped as I pictured Man on Fire. Not to mention my Spanish isn't all that great. Then tells me we have a location in McAllen Tx...which also happens to be right on the border. He's like the living is so cheap that we'd actually lower you pay. I'm like WTF, oh where do I sign up. So now here I sit....still in Wisconsin.

I assume you guys are talking your gaurenteed wage? My roommate here in Fargo just graduated Hennepin tech this year and he is now working for Luther Ford. He is still a bitch lube tech, but he is making 12 bucks an hour gaurenteed. I am no mechanic but as I understand you get paid on commission in the auto industry. Maybe you guys should not worry about guarenteed wage and find somewhere that will give you atleast 45-50 billable hours worth of work every week. Time an a half>>>50 cent an hour higher wage.
