The last d16a1 enine I got from the JY came from a mint, clean teg
pulled the head off and found the missing valve chunks

JDM engine importer



250k mile motors are junk and really only good for top end parts. By the time you rebuild them correctly your not in hmt world anymore


Not to mention pick and pulls almost never have anything never than 1992 if your lucky as all newer cars go to dismantlers who sell them at premium. If you find anything with vtechhhhhh in a jy your very lucky

Well sunday im pulling the head off the d16a1 and checking it out. If cylinder walla look good im taking it. Also oil pan is getting pulled and rod\Mains are getting checked. Head is cleƔn as ---- too with no wear Marks in the cams, the car is cleƔn otherwise the rear is fucked lol!

Well I dont think u can afford to go b series. Id need the whole front end off the car pretty much. Inless you convince me otherwise, ill stick with the d16a1. Money isnt my strong point.....you convince me to go b series u will!

I ment to say i cant afford it. Plus id need mounts too. I already got a LS ecu.

definately look under the valve cover. You don't want this

i dont think i can do to much of any testing on it. they prohibit certain tools and such it makes it hard to do anything to test the motor. maybe a compression test if i can, but im just more concerned about getting the block head and crank than anything. a block is rebuildable as long as the cylinder walls are in good condition correct?
