I love that the metal is still there from the seats and wheel. Wonder what it was, probably electrical.

can you imagine what its like to watch your project car burn to the ground and not be able to stop it?\

vw...our electrical systems are mad tight yo caution: flammable.

def not electrical, the only thing back there is the turbo. prob a leaky oil ine, or he swapped turbos and didnt have clearance btween it and the firewall insulation
