if you already have a chain hoist just throw that single 4x4 across the rafters in your garage so it ------s the weight cross a few. then hook the hoist to it, free. If your garage is drywalled on the ceiling just go into the attic to find the best location, and cut a small hole to drop a chain that you can hook the hoist too.

My neighbor built a wooden one, it was permenantly burried though. He hooked a comealong to it and pulled the engine out of his S10. Worked but looked dangerous lol.
