on the build and the 10:1 compression I don't think your craszy at all..... I've alwayse felt that below 9.5:1 and lower it suck's the low end ***** to get goin. the only think you may be crazy on is April 1st, unless you've already got all your parts ordered and they will show up with-in a month, then it will only take a day to build the whole motor.. maybe 2 with the machining. And if your worried about the cylinders', fill the block..?

I am doing a 10:1 B16 build at the moment for my EK. I Just wanna see some differences. Had a spare block and some SRP 10:1s laying around. I have never built a high comp boosted engine. Just curious to see how it performs. I will be comparing this to my 9:1 B16 in my drag car.

Good luck with your build Chris. I hoping to finally make it out to some meets this spring/summer.

The only thing I would be worried about is the sleeves, LS's aren't exactly known for having strong sleeves and haven't you cracked one before? I trust you know what you're doing though. High compression boost should be fun, good luck.

You can balance your own pistons/rods with a $15 eGay 2000g scale.

Honduh B-series do not need spin balancing.

1) There are two main manufacturers of rings... since Hastings look identical to OEM when you have them side by side, and Rocket sez CPs have less sidewall drag than OEM while retaining excellent seal characteristics... I guess that lets you know how good Hastings are.

2) All Honduhs have large amounts of blowby, especially high CR and boosted engines. This is why a good PCV system, or better yet a slashcut in the downpipe to "suck" out the crankcase pressure, extends life in built Honduh engines.

Booyah, my commentary about LS/VTEC + stock block stuffs in rudebwoy's thread: https://www.homemadeturbo.com/forum/...?topic=56128.0

ever hear of o ringing the block with a copper wire to help head gasket seal? I dont know if you can do it on an open deck, but it would probably be a good idea with 18psi and 10:1 compresison
