Britney Spears Engaged, Reports Say
Britney Spears has sparked rumours she is set to wed her dancer boyfriend, Kevin Federline, after he reportedly proposed, according to Britain's Daily Star newspaper.
Reports say the singer has been spotted wearing a two-carat diamond engagement ring, even though Kevin's ex-girlfriend is eight months pregnant with their second child.
Sources even claim the Britney and Kevin almost eloped while in Europe for Britney's Onyx Hotel tour. But Britney is said to have pulled out at the last minute because she didn't want to repeat the mistake she made by marrying childhood friend Jason Alexander in an impromptu Las Vegas ceremony.
A source is quoted by the Daily Star as saying: "At the last moment, Britney got cold feet and decided she didn't want to make that mistake again. So now they are planning a big wedding and reception in a few months."
Britney, who has scrapped the remainder of her summer tour after injuring her knee, is so smitten Kevin she has also bought a love nest to share with him. The star bought a three-bedroom lakeside house on Governor's Island in New Hampshire.
A friend told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "It's a big move for Britney but she feels the time is right. Despite only being together for three months, she's very serious about Kevin."
