Bought a WRX today.... suckaaaa
Ok i sold my Hatchback just about a week ago and my next project was going to be a JDM SIR2 civic it was going to be a right hand drive and B16 and all that ----... So i found that jdm front end and then i started looking for a usdm shell that i could use for my read end and ----, so a friend gave me phone # of this one guy that had a shall, so i went to that dude's plase to see the shell and while I was there he was like "dude don't buy that shell, by my WRX" i was like WTF
so he showed me that WRX ( it's 2002 model) and it's a theft recovery with 18,000 K miles on it missing seats, door panels, front and rear bumper, hood, headlights, exhaust, wheels and an I/C... But good thing is it's got clean title 
He told me he wanted $6500 for it i talked him down to $6200 and he even got the car towed to my house for free... so i figure with all of the ---- that i have to get i'll be about 8-9K into that car, i checked the KBB.com and that ---- goes for like 19K... i am exited about driving it soon

Thats very odd. Usually when your car is stolen you report it to the insurance company to get money for it. If it was never reported stolen he could have never claimed money for it. This would mean he still has an outstanding loan on the car becuase its highly unlikely that he paid off a $26,000 car in under 2 years. Therefore, if he never reported it to insurance he is most likely still paying for the car that he now sold to you.
Wait a little bit and do another carfax on it, cause something doesn't sound right. He might have done the carfax report right after it was stolen when it wouldn't show up on the report yet

Haha crazy ----, went from rice to nice, go to slow, front wheelin bwaaaaa bwaaaa to 4 tires stickin and grabbin and leaping across intersections then pshhhhhh. Nice find, hope its all legit. You better up the boost on that thing.

I believe you can have a "theft recovery" car with a clean title. If I am correct, a vehicle gets a salvage title if the damage done is greater than the value of the car. Or basically when the insurance company considers it as a total loss.
For example, a friend of mine reported his eg to the insurance company, due to vandalizim, and the insurance company considered it a total loss, but he didn't want a salvage title, so he took less money and to this day the car still has a clean title.
I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I'm right. And being that the car still holds a value of 19k, all the missing items sure don't add up to more than 19k.
