unfortunatly it will make more noise, be more obnixous, and make you look like a total idiot (even if your car is fast )

I was having traction problems............ with my 2 1/4" exhaust on my cavalier 2.2l turbo @ 7psi.........

got the 3" SIDE EXIT........... hit 11psi when I got it back and I couldn't drive hard in 1st or second....... absolutely NO traction now............... spool was faster, more powerful, and damn the sound was wicked..................

Look before the rear wheel....................

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm 3" on a cavalier........... that now sounds like a mustang gt, and is WAY faster.............mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

haha

on my n/a gsr i was running open header for a lil while and then i added the cat and mid pipe and felt a lil more power and then i went to a rsr gt2 straight pipe with muffler and it added alot more power. and my booy has an n/a jdm gsr and he loosed power because hes runnin a 3" back so exhaust def has a big play on how your car will preform. also there was a memeber here a lil whille back that thought they might have a bad turbo but it weas the fact that the stock exhaust was being hooked up to his dp.

Most of the cars on here just don't need a 3" pipe. In order to efficently make use of a 3" exhaust, you'd have to be in the 500+ hp area. 2.5" is more than enough if it is tuned to the correct length. On a n/a car, even 2.5" can be overkill in some instances. Trust me, your 1.6 or 1.8 just doesn't move enough cfm to justify 3". Bigger is not always better. Now that being said, flame away...everyone has their own opinion, even if it has no factual base.

as someone who used to belive ^^^ the same exact thing we still cant explain why my buddys minme crx rips like a raped ape with 3" exhaust when you do the math the 3" is overkill but in real life there is a noticable diffrence between 2.25" and 3" i hope someone here will explain why and if you dont belive me just run the downpipe on your turbo civic and tell me you dont notice a diffrence

I have run a 3" pipe before...actually slowed it down a hair. I dropped back down to a 2.5" to gain more bottom end tq because the 3" killed it pretty bad. I might try a 3" again on my turbo b18 just for ***** and giggles, but there again...if it's tuned to the proper length it won't really make much of a difference. Biggest thing i could see a 3" making some difference is around the 90 degree bends, but i'm thinking of running a fuel cell and getting rid of the tank underneath. That way I can bring the exhaust straight back after a little "fabricating" and have no bends in it at all.

You want all the help scavenging your cylinders as possible. That plus the pressure differential will help to encourage exhaust velocity. AKA spools the turbo better.

I dont agree. On a turbo car the best exhaust is none.Open downpipe for the win.
