Use bittorrent, IRC, or usenet.

never ever had a problem, but I do use antivirus.

after reinstalling the OS due to a failing OEM 80 GB HDD (6 years old) Ihaven't slapped limewire back in, only used it for older music anyways.

Knology is running a deal now, 6mbps download 384kbps upload with cable and a free premium channel for $60 a month... I've had 10mbps down and 768kbps up for $75 a month, internet only, before but might be cheaper and faster now. I think comcast has the fastest speeds around here, but they limit bittorrent seeding and Knology has a monopoly on my current and previous apartment complexes, fortunately the FCC ruled against this and maybe competition will heat up soon.
