My brother works for the wireless internet company that I get my service through. He gets a call this morning from some gaming software company stating that my IP address came up trying to download an illegal pirated copy of NBA Live 08 through utorrent. They told my brother that it's his responsibility to notify me that they are aware of what i'm doing, and to shut the ---- down or legal action will be taken. My bro told me not to worry about it, that he blocked my IP and I should be fine. Still kinda freaky though.

Get:

PeerGuardian - blacklists "known" bad IPs
uTorrent - automatically blocks peers with "bad" files

Turn on whatever anonymous settings uTorrent has. I think that's about your best protection.

Hear onion was better. it doesnt use a list of ip's it just instanly makes you like a 169.198 or a 192.168 or 10.10 or some other ambiguous ip addy.

Ip spoofing isn't the best.. it helps.. but can still be tracked down to the real ip that was being used at the time.

No that uncommon. Alot of cable companies dicountinue service to high volume users. We all know what the volume is movies,etc.

Occasionally i use that limewire, but only a few megs at a time, nothing more then the late night raid of Gigs of ****.
