so the first complaining about religion is because people are too into it....

and the second complaint is people don't do enough....

hoax this hoax that. the point is, it's FAITH-based, meaning christians don't need proof or scientific evidence to believe in it. atheists can never get over that it seems at times.

No, you didn't read my post dumbass.

People are too into minor ---- that the bible consists of and MISS the LARGE picture. I never said I was atheist, I never said that you needed proof. I'm simply saying that if you're going to have faith in something, DO IT!!!! If you put so much trust and energy into something like Christianity and the bible, don't be a ------- hypocrite.

and you read too much into my post, "dumbass"

i never called you an atheist, nor did i say YOU were the primary source of complaining.

ik what you're saying about being hypocritical, but at the same time, standards are so high (people should def. shoot for them, but it's hard).

what i mean is, it's much easier to live without standards not only to society, but also to God, or one's fellow christian community in general. and i'm not speaking about myself here, i'm speaking an arbitraritly chosen person.

so it seems unfair for atheists (once again not saying you) to call christians hypocrites because they're not in the peace corps, or because they make some poor decisions just as all people do.

and i'm really tired so i'm probably not conveying my points very tactfully, or i may not sound very objective, but i'm trying.

haha, never said by ME.

a good technique, however, is to never really say ANYTHING with an opinion, so nobody can disagree haha

Nice touch

I definitely understand what you're saying. I used to be a Christian and, quite frankly, haven't figured out what I "believe" anymore, if anything at all.

I still want a "Buddy Christ" action figure.

hell yeah!

but it sounds like we think semi-similarly. i def. consider myself a christian, but at the same time, some things just don't seem to add up.

i think people need to make a personal "journey" out of religion, and actually THINK about things, as well as consult The Bible etc, and interpret that. if you think about it, being a mindless yes-man in religion really is dangerous. especially with some principles that were firmly preached at one point in history, that modern-day practitioners of the same religion would condemn as being ludicrous, evil even.

but yeah, more tomorrow. snafu, how's that burner workin out for ya? haha

We can tell. I mean, you aren't online at least four hours a day, and you aren't out making money in that time or you'd be able to afford a sweet HMT setup. It's all situps and cardiovascular workouts, right?

Opposing stem cell research is akin to cold blooded murder, IMO.
