I'm running a custom intake mani made by a shop i kno with a 65mm bbk tb to match the intake opening......my sohc vtec pulls much better in higher RPM's now and doesn't lag as much down low
Uh, actually, yes he is running a factory TB.

How is using a bigger TB is going to bring back all of the lost torque with the AEBS.

There is seriously like 10 ft/lbs less in the midrange with the AEBS.

Think about it....just because the intake mani has bigger runners and plenum doesn't mean ur going to make more power unless you use a port match TB.Yes it can hold more volume but your still using that stock 58mm TB. Your still only getting as much air flow as say a stock IM. And because your not pulling in more volume into the bigger IM you are losing power because now there is less air to fill the intake mani before it travels down the runners causing a sort of "lag" in your power band. Get a TB that match's your IM and you will see gains

I guess you could be right, but I just don't see needing a larger TB on a car that puts down 140s to the wheels.

IDK I guess it could be worth try.

Lol, unfortunately neither of the B17s are getting boosted.

The dirty A6 that is on its way is a different story.

is a 70mm too big for say a car that will be na for a little while until turbo setup is ready?

i'm most likely gonna buy what chris is offering the aebs im ported to fit the matching 70mm tb he's got for sale. is this overkill on a na motor for now or will it be good for na and ofcourse gain more once turbo'd??

i'm most likely gonna buy it anyways just want some opinions b16a2 motor

My mentor and I have been using 70mm throttle bodies on b16a's since the late 90's when he designed the first billet Honda throttle body

Simple dont believe the HT hype. Volume speaks for itself. Especially with boost.

190 whp stock b16a end bottom end all motor with ctr cams/port work 6 years ago w/ a 70mm throttle body. Nothing has changed. It still works
