Avoid the Edelbrock on a NA build unless you want a 7000+ powerband. Unless you build an 86x95mm monster and then its still peaky.

I mistrust Larry Widmer. From everything I have seen he is a Talent, but he is shady and lies to make himself look like he is any better than the 1000 other Talents in the Honduh game.

AEBS/Pro Products Whirlwind/Typhoon are the best cheap IM out there for mild NA or 350 whp and slightly above boosted. They rock.

The Edelbrock Vickie-X is great for the big power drag cars and ****** dynoqueens.
I must suxk at life then. A buddy's B17 made the same peak HP with the AEBS as with a stock P30 intake, but way less torque across the power band. Nothing I tried would make power on that IM.

The only difference between the AEBS and P30 tune is A/F and maybe some timing changes up top.

We even tried playing with the cam timing with the AEBS to no avail.

The other oddball thing is that peak midrange torque seemed to come with a ridiculously rich 10.5-11:1 A/F ratio. Keep in mind this is an NA engine. It was totally boggling me.
I am pretty sure that the combo of CTR intake cam, B17 Exhaust cam, and the 17's measly 9.7:1 compression have a major role in it as well.

I am personally running a B17 with the earlier ITR cams, and just a 4-2-1 Edelbrock 2 piece header. I guess the combo is better matched because I make a pretty decent amount of power more than him.

Basically he started off with the AEBS. My combo consistently made more power across the entire board, so we decided to try out the P30 intake laying around. Even with the same cam timing as we were using with the AEBS the P30 made more torque across the board.

Any insight JD?
