been away for a while.. heres a few pics of projects i am working on
I have been scanning the boards for a while, looking for a welder. I found one at a local shop that was closing. I got a Miller 135 with a full tank, plus a large spool of wire and two other spools along with the cart for 350. I thought that was a pretty good deal. So I am helping a buddy with his intercooler piping. Here are some pics of his car. I will have a few more tomorrow as we do the downpipe and the rest of the piping.
We made this pipe in about 45 minutes - then I had to take the lady firend out.. so I was on a time constraint. We will be working on making a 3in downpipe and also working to button up the head as the previous engine popped and this is engine number 2.
The miller was working pretty well. I haven't welded in a while and I played with the settings. Its alright for a mig weld I guess.
I also worked on my car for a while, but I had a friend up at school tig my pipes. They are all 304ss. I am using a 1g dsm blow off valve also. I had to make a battery tray and purchase the smaller battery to be able to run this pipe. Here are some pics. Once we put the pipe up to a polishing wheel, in one pass you can hardly see where it was welded.
Here are the before pictures to see the larger stock battery and the oem piping. The oem piping was 2.25in diameter and the piping that I made is 2.5in. Along with this the new blow off valve holds boost a lot steadier than the plastic ---- blow off valve.

I'm actually selling my Sentra (thank God) and looking at getting another car... my pap shot me a deal, $2000 for his LeSabre. I love that car, drives like a dream, and one time I raced my cousin Chris (93 accord, i/h/e) and stock it wooped him by like 3 car lengths haha. Then hopefully I'm getting rid of my civic and getting this 1980 Chevy Malibu that needs slight restoration... heh. Turbo sounds good on that puppy.
