Default Bad day dyno tuning:(

Well, I went in to adjust AFR's on my D16a6 today and blew my headgasket on the dyno. White smoke everywhere. Damn exhaust system had most of my coolant in it. What does this mean More MONEY to be spent.

How about pray its a headgasket rather than a cracked sleeve

Yeah, I have it torn apart already. Cylinder walls look fine. I drove the car home on 3 cylinders

Ever since the turbo went on I adjusted it really rich just to be safe. When it went, the afr's at full boost were 11.5. I'll take some pics of the electrodes and post them in a few minutes. I really don't think that the pistons or the rods are involved. They looked fine to me, but again I might be wrong.

well you got lucky

Headgaskets are cheap, labor is easy to replace them. But still sucks, what kinda power were you at? and the A/F's?

How much timing were you running? what was your base?

You may want to consider using the Z6 headgasket as a replacement headgasket. Its the strongest D-series gasket in stock form, tripple layer metal, and fits perfectly on A6's
