i dont know. i b\never asked him. hes spent tons of money on it though. to me, the access port is the eaisest. hell with the stock ntercooler you can make around 250 whp easy. just plug it in, and upload the map. you still have to have exhaust work to it. up tipe, and turbo back are important. headers are fine. subaru actually designed them soo well that aftermarket ones dont do ----. also, taking off the intake manifold is a tricky job. it takes a long time, and if you onbolt some things, you have to retorque them down to spec or else youll fudge up the install. lol.

250 whp is good enough to spank allot of things and hang with stock sti's.

I got it one day, parked it ouside, and has been sitting there ever since.....

I've been busy, working, driving to work takes almost 2 hours now, and in the process of buying a house, I'm supposed to close on it tomorrow....let's see....It's been off and on now a few times.Once I move in I'll start playing with it. I'm also doing the ebay store with the decals, which is going pretty good, so that keeps me busy, plus the meetings in the afternoon, gotta keep going to those.

Well like Kain said, Cobb is the easiest and it is cheap, you can download maps, plug it in and go. Anything else will require tuning. If you only have a set goal in performance, that will get you there. If you want endless tuning capability, look into something a little better, more standalone.

I did notice a big difference with my manifold, it not only changed the sound of the classic boxter engine, to a deeper muscle tone, but it also decreased spool up time by a good 500rpms, and the power delivery is a lot smoother. Now the factory one can give you those numbers too, no problem.

yeah, but in my opinion, a header isnt worth it. the biggest gains arent from a header. a header is a mute point. people have been getting around 500 whp woth the stock header lol.

just get the cobb tuning ecu. also a nice cheap turbo back is the tanabe. its a great design but we busted up ours and decided to get a greddy. same sound slightly louder. also, perrin makes exillent products. i dont know what downpipe we have on his, but its half cast, half pipe contraption welded togeather.

also, get ready to deal with the fucken top o2 sensor and ----.

We are talking about numbers here, It will net you the same 350whp, but the power might come in faster a good 500-750rpms faster than with the stock manifold. Is that worth the $1000 price on some....hellllll No...I got mine for $300 as a package deal with the Utec and he threw in a bunch of other misc parts. That's why I did it.

That looks pretty good. I'm not a fan of big brand names, when it comes to pipes, it's just a tube, as long as you are getting those gases away from the turbo as quick as possible it will work.

I had a table before comparing a bunch of different exhausts on the WRX, power out put and db levels. The difference between all where +/- 5hp. The big difference is in the sound.

I would buy it, it will be better than stock, and will save you a lot of money. If you go brand name, you would end up paying over $1200 for everything. I'm not a hardcore racer :1, I want the car to be better for myself, a system like this will achieve that. Unless you like to brag about what parts and how much is into your car.

If I was you, I would go ahead and purchase an o2 sensor fix and do it right away. There is also a fix for the EGT probe that goes in the Up-pipe. Take it out, I made the mistake of putting it back in, but when you remove the cat the temps are so hot that it melted the little wire, which probably isn't too good for the turbo. I used the fix, a 10cent resistor, and got a bolt to plug the hole, It is metric of course, I think it is 12 x 1.25.
The O2 sensor fix, well they sell two, one is an extension to put the sensor away from the exhaust gases, the other is a resistor to solder in the line.
