Default automotive schools

There have been a few represenitives coming to my school to talk about what they have to offer and so on. Some of them sound like a load of bs, while others sound promising. I was wondering if Wyotech is a good automotive school, and maybe a couple opinions on other good automotive schools.

No first hand experience, but Wyotech seems to have a strong reputation. My friend graduated from UTI (Universal Technical Institute) and that seems to be a good one as well. He's a tech at Chevrolet now. I've also heard UTI mentioned on the Spike Tv show "Trucks"

I was thinking wyotech sounded the best out of them so far. I have a year to think about it (only a sophmore right now) but I was just looking ahead and I think I'd like this career. Thanks for all the input.

From what I have gathered UTI would be my #1 - but im seriously looking into Lincoln Tech which is a bit smaller and much more local. Im in the market for one of these tech school. I dont know much about Wyotech though, ive always thought they were more domestic

Diesels have big turbos

I go to Pennsylvania College of Technology, I get a two year Automotive Technician Associate's degree and a business Bachelor's degree all in four years. I get some ASE certifications too. I love it.

i know about 5 or 6 people that went thew UTI and they all said it was a waste of money.. i guess u get your education but prices are steep and u can get just as good id notbetter at a local technical college. for instance i am at Renton technical college in seattle washington and it is an awesome program i first wanted to go to UTI in AZ but after i did some research and talked to people the attended it i figured out that it was going to be a waste of money.... UTI has a good rep and is well know but i would highly advise looking into something local (if not located around a UTI) or sumthing that is a lil cheaper.. i am not saying UTI isn't a good school or anything i just think that u can get a great education if not better somewhere cheaper..... if money matters at all. because i have spent well over 3k on cheap craftsman tools plus tution and books and i stil haven't gotten everything i have needed yet...so UTI would not be my first choice in automotive education.
