autocrossing a non-factory turbo car
im planning to do some solo2 in my civic after i turbo it and i wanna know if any one here has done that. are there any reliability issues? how does it perform (traction, etc) and would it be put in a competitive class?

yeah, temp will be an issue. also, you be running in Street Mod or Mod too, which means you'll be running against some pretty beastly cars too. turbo's aren't a great help in solo II since you have to keep it reved high enough for boost, but your constant letting off the gas to make your turns/boxes/gates,etc.

actually, the more i think about it, since there wasn't a stock turbo honda, you'd go to mod not street mod. mod is mainly made up of race-only or customer built cars. it'll still be fun, i doubt you'd be competative.

im not sure about autox, but just from every day spitited driving you gotta watch out a bit more for that understeer. the front end just wants to break loose and steer the car straight. thats what happens when you have a fwd car and lots of power pulling it. and plus that turbo is gonna be more of a sudden power surge so its gonna wanna break the tires loose and it will be a little hard to get used too.

Yeah, my car would suck *** at autox. That pos just wants to break the tires loose at the top of the gears. The tiny bit of ricer in me likes it, but the actual car enthusiast part of me hates the loss of traction. I would get smoked at autox.
