Okay, well here goes my ramble. When I bought my sol I tested and drove 32 in southern ontario. First off, DO NOT buy a 93 or 94. (different locks, shitty seal, plus the glove box pops open under hard driving) They suck ***, don't question it just accept it. They suck.

95 is the only year your left with if you want the aux lights in the centre. I did because it looks like an sc300. 96 and 97 are the same as a 95 without the aux lights.

I bought the VTEC model because
1. Has 4 wheel discs (so does the Si)
2. Better suspension/handling, even has a strut tower bar
3. The fastest US honda released stock (except s2000)even has better times than the new SIR hatch.
4. Has a B series engine, not a shitty SOHC D
5. The seats are just great, I like them better than the jdm recaro's. Plus they got me through an 8 hour trip to NJ.
6. The shifter is nicer than other cars, even my 98 'lude

Other nice things...
-Not bad for large ppl, my dad can drive it just fine, he's 6'2"
-trunk is huge, bigger than the average sedan
-easy to pick up girls in (I know it's for your g/f but just a side note)
-drives great ie econ/handing/fun to drive factor
-targa top
-sliding rear window is different and kinda cool
-lots of room in the cabin for woofers if you rip out the cubby's behind the seats
-cover for your stereo deck

Gay things...
-considered a chick car(hate this one the most)
-guys who own crx's make fun of you(kinda fits in with the first, but hey that car got canned as well )
-glovebox is really ------- small, like a civic
-cup holders might as well not be there, they are worthless as well
-if your g/f gets an auto which will most likely happen, honda autos are ----, like cheap rubber bands
-more chasis flex than I would want when the roof is off
-it's front wheel drive (I hate that )
-the sun visors suck ----, and for your g/f have no mirrors
-really hard to have sex in, a little easier with the roof off but still hard

I have a 93 del sol si with a 15g turbo. It's actually for sale on ebay, look it up The only thing i never liked about it was the fact it had a tendency to leak on the tops of the window. Other than that I love the car. It has every appeal to me. No car is perfect, but the sol is a lot more rare than a civic or integra. Kinda nice being the one that get's all the attention. Tell her to buy a sol, she will like it. Or even better, buy mine

i LOVED my del Sol!!!! it was sooo much fun to drive plus the targa top is a HUGE plus during the summer! they look really good with a lil work done to them too. the first thing i would recommend doing is lowering it since stock del Sol's look REALLY high off the ground.

hands down thou, i would def. recommend one to ur gf! i miss mine already!

I weighed my del sol at bandimere and also weighed a civic SI 99. the del sol was 100 LBS lighter. they by far are not the heaviest car. hell my 91 integra weighs 300 LBS heavier.

You wouldnt expect a small car to weigh so much though. I was shocked at how fat they are.

thats so they dont fold up with the roof off. they need a whole lot of extra support cause they are a tiny targa top. they still kick *** though. i really want one myself.
