RENR, I'm all for immigration. You want to come to the united states to better your life or your familys? Come on in. I don't care if you're black or white or somewhere inbetween. It'd be fine by me.
But that's the thing. There's the right way to immigrate and the wrong way. There's a process. I'm all for legal immigration. Illegal? I don't think so.
Also think about the threat on the mexican border for terrorists to go through. They need to make that area much more secure.

Mexico being a fucked up country where kids sell gum isn't American taxpayers problem.
After 10.4 million of those "kids" are now here, I don't see a big jump in them "maybe becoming somebody"
There IS a legal way to enter the country, but nobody considers it. It used to be a great accomplishment to go through the program to become a citizen, but the government turning their heads to the illegal problem is a slap in the face to every single person that completed that program.
Because the country or the parents can't teach thier own children to read, it doesn't mean that it is our responsiblity (financially).
Even though it's just a law, it doesn't seem morally right for us to leave kids sick in thier own country that don't have ----. It's also not morally right for them to invade our country and expect all of those services (health, education, fire/police protection, ect...) to be provided to them by a different countries tax payers.
I assume that under Renr's train of thought, all countries that don't have it as good as us should be able to hop the border and start benefitting (The more illegals, the more it costs for them to have the same benefits, the more American tax dollars it takes to do it). It'd be nice if we could do that, but we can't afford it, and if we can't afford all, then we shouldn't afford any.
Exactly when would you like for people to not be able to come here anymore? When all of Mexico is here? Should we let Samalia, Cambodia, and all those in too, or?
With the low income average of illegals, are they going to be willing to give up part of thier money to help support more illegals coming into the country? When 10 children of illegals are born at our hospitals, it's covered by tax dollars in the general fund. When 100 illegals have babies, it takes it out of the general fund. If all of mexico (and any other "doesn't have it as good as us" country come here and have babies without first making something of themselves and contributing to taxes, who do you think is going to pay for that?
I understand you see the "we just want a better life" part of it, but you either can't see how it effects the economy, or you just don't want to believe it.
