Default Army Pt Test

Took it today, 66push ups, 69 situps, 16:08 2mile . I have been running but it has been slow and long distance 3-5mile at a 10min pace. I need to step it up, I have never failed a PT test, but I came close today with the run. Anyone know a good running program to get me down to 13-14min range.

Hahahaha exactly, in middle school I ran a mile in about 6.5 min, and that was with hardly any exercise and not trying my hardest. Now I probably would take 8 minutes because I haven't ran in years.

Run faster.
No really though.
Run three times a week.
Do cadance breathing... Breath on every right foot when it hits the ground.
Relax your arms.
No unneeded movements

For me when i do my PRT test it is all about breathing, my legs never get tired, my lungs allways do because im a smoker, But then again, we only run 1.5 miles for our test, but i am consistantly around 90 for 1.5 mile.

NEVER run at someone elses pase or in formation, allways run alone.
Inhale through nose,exhale through mouth.

Usually my pushups are around low to high 90's, a way to get better at those is with weights, Low weight, but alot of reps.

Situps are usually around 110,Same thing, put some weight on your chest, low weight, with alot of reps, it will get easyer.

for your run do some 30-60s and work to 60-120s.
sprint for 30 seconds walk for 60. once you get good at it then go for longer times.
There are plenty of things you can do to improve your time.
What age bracket are you in?

how the hell did you even graduate boot camp? Or are you still waiting to go? I never worked out and smoked up until they put me on the bus to lackland for bootcamp and I did a 11 minute 2 miles 120 situps and 86 pushups. Better improve on that running time or you'll never phase up. For improving your scores the pt pyramid thing works excellent along with running sprints till you feel like your lungs are going to explode and breathing in your mouth and out your nose

Yeah I ------- buy that. I've smoked maybe 2 cigarettes in my life and work out. I have cardio in my workout and it would still take me at least 15 minutes to do a 2 mile. ----, the only ones in my HS that got below a 6min mile were the ones that lived for cross country. Btw my school goes to state competitions every year and places well. I don't believe some schmuck can sit on his *** all day every day, have a shitty lifestyle, and then go out and run a 5 minute mile.

I weighed 120 when I went in I'm 5'10 I can run all day and it doesn't bother me. Got used to it running 10 miles a day 5 days a week in high school. Hell I can prolly run a 12 minute 2 miles now and I've been out forever. And I never worked out but don't confuse that with sitting on my *** all day. And the 5 top people in my squadron could all do there 2 miles in the 10 minute range.
