Default anyone replaced their own windshield?

i dont feel like spending the $2-300 for someone to replace my cracked windshield. i found a local place with windshields for $40 and a windshield replacement strip for $20. maybe i should use a tube of silicone and a caulking gun?

so whats the best method of removal? i hear guitar wire is pretty good, but wouldnt i need 2 sets of hands? one of us inside and the other outside?

whats the best way to clean off the nasty left over ----? goo-gone? alcohol?

i know one of you ******* has done this, its the hmt way.

you need urethane not bathroom cocking you clown
best way to remove is to cut the metal around the window and replace it with a windshield from a 69 'maro
like putting vitaras in a d

I did it one time with my father and seriously its a pain in the ***! Find someone that can do it cheap. If you dont install it correctly it will crack anyway! But if you realy want to do it, guitar wire is ok. Just take a wood or metal piece so you cant roll up around it. I don't know for the installation since we didnt reinstall it lol! Good luck

Structurally, your windshield is pretty important. Like the other person said, it'll crack if installed improperly, and most likely leak if not put on properly.

I'm all for doing ---- myself, but in this case I'd get someone else to that would be liable if something went wrong.

I did one and honestly it was a pain in the ***. It ended up leaking so we had to add urethane after the install. It sucked and i wouldn't do it again.
