My dad had one back when I was younger. Had some sort of swap in it, no clue what, but I know it had some quickness to it. What year and how much?

its an 81 great turbo model body....original owner put the nonturbo motor in it because of price of repairs...800 miles on a rebuilt NA motor and 5 spd. motor has a nasty tick coming from the head..has me worried a little. guy said its just a rocker arm that needs adjusting and for 50 bucks more he'll take it to a guy to fix it...we'll see if thats what it is. brakes felt non-existant...didnt have time to look at the fluid level. suspension is shot but interior is about 90%

but if the guy fixes the tick in the motor and it doesnt need a new brake master cylinder. guy wanted 1k. talked him down to 850...plus the 50 for the motor fix

I'll never understand why people try to sell something that has something obviously wrong with it. And then when you mention it they always say something like "well its yada yada and it'll only cost a few bucks to fix" I don't know... but that just irritates the ---- outta me.

i just got off the phone with the guy...told him id pay the extra 50 for the repair...plus, even if i don't buy it. he would have to get it done anyways.

im waiting for that to get done

but yea..it annoys the ---- outta me

to be honest...it feels exactly like when i had the timing on my old honda way off. its a possibility thats all it is.

Maybe it won't be the rocker and you can jew him down more. I know when I had my Slo off by one tooth it had no power (far less then stock anyways) and had a nasty *** tick.

I've been looking at them lately, isn't that gen a 280zx, and the earlier 70's ones were just 280z's? The ones your talking about are pretty gangstur, but the first gen is sex on wheels. Where i worked this summer a guy had one sitting in his tow lot. Body was mint, just needed an engine rebuild. If he's still got it this summer when I go back, i'm gonna see if he'll sell it to me on the cheapness. It was a 72 if i remember correctly
