Default anyone have gum/dental problems

For as long as I've been alive I've always had real perfect teeth and gums. No cavities, always straight, always healthy.

Over the past week or so, my gums started to hurt really bad, then suddenly starting bleeding alot, and look like they are for the lack of a better description, rotting away.

Anyone have experience with ---- like this? WTF Can I do while I wait for my dentist appointment. Dentists are always backed up, so I can't get in til the 16th (two wednesdays from now).

Advice anyone?

I've already been brushing, using listerine, salt water gargling....anything else anyone?

2 weeks, that's BS. If it continued to get worse daily I would go to the ER. They could probably tell you if they could help you out any before they charged you any $$.

my wife is a dental field and i get harped on all the time about taking care of my teeth...

some things you should not do....

do not drink pop/soda etc. if you do, drink it through a straw
do not drink lemonaide or water flavored with lemons
do not smoke (tabacco or weed)
no carbonated drinks

things you should do...

brush with a SOFT brissle toothbrush
floss EVERYDAY
use a mouthwash with floride (if it doesnt have floride, dont get it). the brand ACT is a good one
take a daily vitamin that has calcium
brush after every meal

Lay off the crack
I will clarify.

There is some pain at times, nothing thats overly painful or any sort of problem. I was just trying to note that there is some feeling of soreness there at times, no biggie.

I am guessing this to be common gingivitis, and most likely with all the listerine/floss/brush action and a trip to the dentist, that it will heal.
