Default anyone with dirtbike engine experience

sup guys. my freinds kawasaki KX 125 broke well its not a 125 cause of the bore but still its broken. we took the head bolts and the exhaust off. when we pulled off the exhaust there was a piston ring sitting right there so were like hmmm i wonder whats wrong with this picture. so we know its the ring but we got everything unhooked and the head slides up a little bit then it stops cause of this one peice. its on the right side and its like a plastic lever type thing and it has 2 or 3 rods i think connected into the head but we have no clue how to get this peice off cause we have never worked on a dirtbike. like one piece goes into the head and one goes into the tranny case and it looks as if the peice spins around or some ----. i just wanted to see if someone knew how to get it off. thanks i appreciate any help. and dont say just take it to a shop cause thats just a waste of money.

Yeah, you're definattaly describing the power valves. Get a book or someone that has worked on bikes before.

your talking about the power valve, its on the front part of the cylinder, look on the sides of the engine for a little cover or clip on the mechanism. if i remember right my buddys kx there was a cover on the lower right hand side.
