My biggest piece of advice is to make sure you clean the floor REALLY REALLY well and give it enough time to dry out. Other than that it is easy as hell
Oh yeah, post pics when you're done :P

Epoxy-Coat is a Cycloaliphatic 100% solids epoxy. This is a term used to describe the volume solids in a coating system. It is what is left over after the product dries. 100% solids yields 100% dried material after the coating fully dries. 50% volume solids yield 50% of the thickness after the coating fully dries. Most epoxies are 30%-40% volume solids. If you wish to compare the thickness after dried application between Epoxy-Coat and normal epoxies you would need 2.5x the gallons to equal exactly the thickness of 1 gallon of Epoxy-Coat.

Cost me $80 more with the etcher/cleaner ---- and I still need to buy rollers. These kits come with 2 big *** bags of color chips each so I should have plenty of those.

Re: Anybody have experience with epoxy garage floors?
i used the rustoleum ---- in my shop, its peeled up ONLY in the spots where there was a super thick coating of oil/grease (used to be a rig truck repair shop) that i couldnt get off completely witht he degreaser/etcher. ther rest of the floor is still sticking 2 years later and let me tell you it gets beat the ---- up. boost if you prep the floor right (concrete should look brite white) you will never have a problem with the light duty use its going to get.

I don't understand why your arguing. This thread was asking about experience with floor coatings. I've used the home Depot stuff and here's what it looks like today:

It didn't take long to start peeling and I did all that prep work stuff that comes in the kit. Now I have to go rent a floor grinder to get that ---- off and recoat it with the epoxy-coat stuff. The epoxy-Coat stuff is just 100 times stronger and you can tell that after it hardens. It seems like the coating is stronger than the concrete, not to mention it looks better than the other types of floor coatings.
And yes a garage floor with a 2 mil thick layer is going to be stronger than a 2 mil coating made up of 1 mil of base and 1 mil of top coatings. So now you have a 1 mil layer thats exposed to traffic instead of a solid 2 mil layer. In my opinion, one thick coat is better than 2
I'm done arguring, he asked for experience. I've had experience with some coatings and between the 2 coatings I've used, which one would you be recomending? The floor above or this:

Re: Anybody have experience with epoxy garage floors?
whitey youre comparing the basic floor paint that comes in a gallon can to an epoxy floor. were talking about the 2 stage ---- that needs to be mixed with acetone and ----. i guarantee my floor gets 100 time the beating yours gets and my stuff has held up pretty well thus far. of course your coating that costs 3-4 time as much is better, but its not a necessary ESPECIALLY for a home garage that gets minor use.
