Anybody ever Boosted a Cressida?? (7MGE does supra mani fit??)
Im sure only a few guys here know what a Toyota Cressida is.... well, its nothing special, but if you like rear-wheel powered cars and have basically no cash, its a good start... I found one in need of a bodyjob i can do in a few days for only 500$ Im considering building a manifold built for a twin turbo setup, or im looking for an old turbo supra engine to drop in.... which one should i opt for

does it already have the 7mge in it?
if so...
the older supras had a 7mgte which was a very potent motor, and the parts from it should bolt right up to the 7mge if thats what the cressida has.

Depends on the year of the Cressidia. Ok, well it really doesn't, but only the later years had the 7MGE engine. The earlier years had the 5MGE, which is a 2.8L inline 6, not a 3L. Good news is, that people with MKII Supra's have been using the 7MGTE manifold to turbo the 2.8L engine. So either way, yes, the manifold should fit on with little to no modification. The transmission on the car is what I would be worried most about. The 7MGTE manual tranny is a lot bigger than the 5MGE tranny, which usually crap out around 300WHP. The 7MGTE engine is a lot like the 2JZ, they're pretty much indestructible stock, same with the trannies. There are a few turbo Cressidia's on www.supraforums.com Check the 3rd gen section, most people who turbo the Cressidia opt for the entire 7MGTE swap, which can be had for about 700 bucks online. Hope this helps!

I second that- we have one manifold at work for live running 5mge, 7mge, and 7mgte. There are some subtle difference between the turbo/non-turbo block. The turbo oil return and oil pressure locations will not be finish machined on a non-turbo block. Good for Toyota for not making a pussier casting for the N/A, but bad for them for not machining it and then blocking it off. Obviously, nothing you can't overcome if you decide to turbo the N/A. As far as I know, changing ECU is straight up, with the addition of a few wires ('boost sensor' etc...) so not very difficult. Good luck, make a burnout video!

I've got a JDM 7MGTE low miles with a spun bearing sitting in my garage. I will be tearing into it this summer to see exactly what went wrong(swaped it into my 1987 toyota supra turbo while i rebuilt the USDM motor only to have it die too). I will be parting out or selling the whole thing when I am done.
