Default Any Of You ******* Quit Smoking? (cigarettes)

So I'm trying to quit. I've smoked about 3/4 a pack (15 cigarettes) per day for roughly 7 years. I started smoking because I thought it was cool and it gave me something to do when I was bored. Boy how things have changed. What I used to think was cool is now so ------- stupid. I thought looking cool and getting attention was what made a person cool rofl. Now I think that people who have their ---- together and are in control of themselves are cool. Instead of looking up to rock stars and Italian gangsters; I now look up to anyone who is on top of their bills, makes good money, respects others, and is in good shape physically.

I was a ------- specimen back in high school, seriously. I had 22" arms, 6% body fat, and could run 10+ miles at a brisk pace without even struggling. I looked like a damn UFC fighter or something. That was almost 10 years ago though. I now have 17" arms and am starting to look/feel soft. I used to work out on the bench doing reps of 225; now I can barely get 205 up once! Basically, I'm a bitch compared to what I used to be, and I attribute that to my smoking.

I've now made the commitment to get my former body back and live a healthier lifestyle. Before I can even think about doing aerobic exercise; I have to get my lungs back in shape. So in other words, the first step to getting back in shape is to quit smoking. After that I can change my diet to the more healthier protein and fruits/vegis, but I have to quit now before it's too late.

I smoked my last cigarette around 10pm PST this Friday. That puts me only a couple hours shy of the 48hr mark. They say the 48-72hr shot is the worst, so I'm dreading the next day. My body is telling me to GIVE IT NICOTINE NOW, but I'm fighting it with all my heart. I haven't slipped up even once since I quit. I didn't plan it either; I just finished off that pack and decided it was time. I feel like ---- because I'm going through nicotine withdrawls!

My point of starting this thread is because I need advice from other ex-smokers, and also want to have this thread to look at when the cravings are going through the roof. I really don't want to smoke anymore, and have faith I can beat it, but ---- is NOT easy. If any of you smokers are thinking about quitting; NOW IS THE TIME! You know I'll be quitting with you, so throw away that pack and call it done. IDK about you folks, but I'm tired of my teeth getting yellow, my clothes smelling like smoke, coughing up weird ----, and looking like a fool while smoking a cigarette. They definitely aren't cool. Let's get this thread going! I know there are a lot of guys on here that smoke and want to quit, and probably a few of you that have quit successfully. More than anything that's who I want to hear from. TIA

Apology accepted there JD. Lemme guess, here comes another one of your great replies that has to do with either *******, *****, or both. I think we've all heard enough of your closet gayness and would like there to actually be a thread with some viable content on this site rather than you raving about nig gers, *******, and *****. The only reason people put up with you is because you've been here so long. Kindly stay out of my thread because I'm seriously trying to do something here. Yes, I am in a bad mood, and probably shouldn't expect anything but bathroom humor, gay humor, or racial humor on this site; especially from you.

And btw, this isn't a "Has he smoked yet?" thread at all. I just wanted to hear from people that have successfully quit because I need all the information and quit stories I can get. I decided to give some back history so people could relate and respond accordingly. Life>HMT which I know is surprising to some of you guys that sit on here all day and troll around trying to **** people off. Ok so back on track? Anyone else?

Ha, nicotine withdraws. Try opiate withdraws on for size. I figure if i can kick opiates I could kick anything. Time for a cigarette.

Been there done that. I think that's why I have an edge and can go cold turkey on the cigarettes. Opiate withdrawls are a whole different animal that's for sure. Thank God for Suboxone is all I can say.
