I vote Toyota, not just because I'm a Toyota fan, but for the following reasons:
Colorado vs. Toyota MR2.... Colorado DEMOLISHED. MR2 slightly mooshy rear quarter panel. Colorado driver, serious injuries; MR2 driver, whiplash.
Nissan has the worst customer service on earth. I have purchased and owned 3 used Nissan vehicles, and bought 4 brand new from a 99 Sentra, 97 4X4 Hardbody, 02 Xterra and 02 SE-R Spec V. After buying so many vehicles from the same place the salesmen treat you well, but the service department will rape you in the ***. Don't dare buy an extended warranty, and don't dare think that you will get ANYTHING for free on your Factory Warranty. Nissans have faulty paint, more recalls than Gerber and the quality customer service you'd expect from a cheap hooker.
Just get the Tacoma, drive it and be happy. Everything is smooth sailing from there.

. The toyota will have a nicer interior, but nissan trucks > nissan cars. I'd go nissan for that big of a price difference.
