He's awesome. A little too much double pedal for me, but hey, still so much better than I am.

Know what I really cant stand? ------ repost **** police. I have a life outside of the internet and am not on every day or spend all of my time clicking refresh like some...Look at my registration date and post count then compare. YOU NEED TO GET OUT MORE and quit worrying about what is/isnt a repost. I havent seen half the ---- posted here and many of the other sites I frequent. Repost shmepost eat a dick lol. Ok I'm done venting.

p.s. Of course its a ------ repost. I think every single posted repost on this site was posted on another forum first hence, making it a re------- post!! DOH!!! Thanks for letting me know it was a repost btw I really didnt see that one comin.

To me he is ------- fast and everything but i think the thing that sets apart they remarkable drummers from the ones who are just quick as hell is the ability to have each of your 4 limbs act seperatley, and i dunno if he quite has that in this video atleast, and yes i do realize he is young and has talent but to me that is more impressive

i'm a full time drummer/dj.
tony royster jr. was a child prodigy discovered at just the right time, imo. so much natural talent, and has been studying closely with the biggest names in the drumming world for the past few years. dennis chambers mostly, i believe.
that video is actually quite a few years old now. he was 12 then, so i think he's around 15 or 16 now? i can just imagine how much farther he's grown.
i was actually using his signature drumstick for a bit. it's an awesome stick, but it's a vic firth, and they don't stand up to much abuse.

side note:
independance never gets you gigs. groove does.

Damn good drummer, but unfortunately the music business doesn't like talent. He is now 20 years old acording to his website (www.tonyroysterjr.com). For being such an excellent drummer (that started playing when he was 3) you would think he could get a better job than En Vogue's live drummer.

quote from his website

"Tony Royster Jr. is only 18 years old and has been playing drums for 15 years now."
