getting it tuned on the dyno is a really good idea(but you knew that, heh).

I have no intention of going n/a.
my main decision was to wait and get a d16z6 first,
but I figure.. why risk a new motor for only a 23hp increase? when I've got one right here.

Even if you do decide to go with a D16 after a while, everything external will bolt on it from your D15. You could just simply swap the whole turbo assembly over to the D16 later on. I might be doing that soon with a built D16. I want to have a good block fully built and ready to handle like 20psi. Oh boy........

haha i have experience with a turbo 1.5 sohc dx motor (eg). it was really fast on 9 psi. but i blew. lol. i blew becus my t25 was leakin oil. so my motor didnt have oil so i blew on the freeway. well thats my story. hope ur setup works out. but yeah the motor has potential. just keep it low boost with enough fuel management. and u'll be fine boostin. just leave it as a cruising car blowing off on peeps. not a track motor. well hope this helps. k cya

I boosted both my original d15b7 and now a d16z6. The b7 was cabable of mid 14 sec quarter mile runs at 6.5 psi which I was very pleased with considering the car was prolly a 17 sec car to begin with. I have not taken the z6 to the track yet but it really dont feel any faster. If i had the choice I would pick the z6 though, they are supposed to be the strongest in the d series.

i have a d15 turbo too. i'm happy with mine. 7-8 psi 14b setup,450 dsm injectors, front mount,5.0 mustang fuel pump,and fmu. it's been about 4 mounths since i put it on. no problems still even with 208K miles. so don't beleive people when they say don't turbo a 1.5

dr.boost: I was told that unless you go with an ecu upgrade,
like the afc hack, or hondata, that you shouldnt get injectors? but sounds like 1slowguy is running an fmu with injectors.

1slowguy: do you have any idle problems with your setup?
and how did you get the 14b to run 7-8psi? From what i'm told the wastegate is set to 9psi stock, can you fill me in on what technique you used to adjust it?

Yeah, you can get away with up to 310cc, but you heard right. I am using 450cc with the safc hack. This is the setup you should use. It will give you room to expand. If you decide to raise the boost, you will need mire fuel and the bigger injectors along with the s-afc will allow you to do that.

but i'm thinking of this as turbo "phase 1"
i'm doing it with a cheap intercooler, probly gonna be cheapo piping. and fmu/fuelpump only. and stock exhaust
but boost stays at or below 7psi,

later on(especially if this engine blows)
i'd go with a d16z6, FMIC, full exhaust and maybe even hondata(after reading up on it it sounds really amazing) and run like 9-10psi. I might run the afc hack on that setup though, to save money.
