Default Anti-theft ignition switch????

As most of you know, you can steal a civic in less than a minute if you know what you are doing. I learned this after my civic was stolen and stripped. IT's so easy to hotwire a 92-95 civic. All it is is 2 phillips head screws on the back of the ignition solenoid! I did it in my driveway on my new one in less than a minute and I'm new at it! So, my question is: is there anything aftermarket to buy to to protect ur car? can you get an aftermarket ignition solenoid? I just dont wanna have another one stolen and i dont want to rely on a fuel cut off switch.

People have done everything from taking out the ECU to putting in fuel cut devices.... they have still been stolen. If I were you, I would take out my ECU, or somehow rig up a solenoid to make it difficult as ---- to start.

It also depends on who's stealing it. If they've got a tow truck with a "******" bar on it, They don't even have to start it. They just grab and go. But most theives will be deterred at least somewhat by a kill switch of some form. Put your fuel pump wire on a hidden toggle switch or something like that.

I Have a Latching Relay setup so that you have to press a hidden button to start the car, and once power is turned of again, you have to press agian. This way I never have to remeber to fliop a switch when I get out.

As for a Grab Bar Tow Truck, thosew type of thefts have never happened around here so I not worried.

Man, i wish thru my datalogging that i could like, input a code or something to activate the car. that'd be cool! lol but i'll keep dreamin i guess. I live on base, so not much threat of being stolen here but where my bro lives (mooresville, NC) they'll tow it, take it any way they can! I guess i'll have to just use a fuel cutoff. thanx.
