These cars are actually not that great for boost, stock that is. It handles around 12psi max. E30 BMW is the most reliable 3-series bimmer so quit bitching how they always break, whoever said that is a fucktard. Repairs are more expensive than Japanese car, but not by much, you can find the cheap parts for it.
Car handles very good, and accepts any non v12 bmw engine. If you want to upgrade the rear end you can get either a M3 VLSD or Z3 Vlsd. They share the entire subframe with Z3s.
And I think these cars look ------- nice.

if you want a LSD, ive got a 3.73 out of a 325IS that worked great with the 86 325e turbo I built a few years back.
Ill throw up pics of the install we did. It was a fun car with lots of torque. At 10psi it was a crazy car.
if you decide to go with it, you will enjoy it, but i agree with everyone in saying the repair bills suck
