thats what I was leaning towards. that it's the owners fault since he should know most people can't drive 500+ hp cars with no tc.

Its got this thing that controls the power output which is connected to a pedal on the floor. It only makes 550-700 torque when you want it to. Sure you could be a dumbass and get yourself into trouble but if you realize that you need to be cautious it shouldn't be any problem to drive that thing.
