Viruses and Spyware are not the same, anti-spyware won't detect viruses and anti-virus won't detect spyware. I recently got a nasty piece of spyware that would download and install more spyware every time Internet Explorer opened. Spybot and Adaware would detect the downloaded spyware and remove it, but not the original trash that was downloading it. I ran hijackthis, pasted the log into their website to analyse, and was able to get rid of it all. I recommend regularly running Adaware and Spybot, installing Spybot's immunization functions, and periodically running hijackthis to make sure nothing is being missed.

I use Spy hunter, pretty good. I got the same e-mail last week twice. I did'nt open it twice, but I ran my spy-hunter and cleaned everything out quick

I just downloaded Adware Filter and scaned my computer and it came up with like 80 spy and addware files? on there damn and i thought my anti virus could protect me from all that ---- all by it self... guess not

80? That's not bad. I was at my cousins house and ran Ad-Aware SE, and it came up with 1500+ files. I'm dead serious. If you tweak the settings, it'll look in subfolders and other stuff. Mess with the custom settings to make it work at its peak.
