Default Aluminum welding

Hey guys I am looking into picking up a mig welder, mostly to help me on my turbo kit, but some other odds and ends also. The one I'm looking at will weld with or without gas. I preffer to use the gas because the welds will come out alot cleaner.
My question is, Can I use some aluminum mig wire to weld aluminum with this welder or does the welder have to be designed to weld aluminum? As far as I know the welder is setup to weld steel. Beau, I know you do alot of welding so maybe you can help me out here, and anyone else who knows can feel free to help too.

if you change your gas from 25%/75% for steel to 100%argon, you can weld aluminum with mig. just change your wire and gas also it feeds better if your gun is lower than the machine. best bet would be to get a spool gun.
