Default AlteRnAtor Fun 56K go ---- Kains MOM

So you are gonna need some tools.

Then stare blankly at this for about an hour...then go make a post and get everyone to tell you a detail step by step to get it out

After you realize that noone knows what a EF engine bay is like. Take the Master Cylinder out( i had to change mine anyways)and the Alternator comes right out.

You might want to change your belt too...I didn't thoguh cause i got the wrong one

hahahahhahah

i had an ef and i never took out my master cylinder to remove my alternator

did u know there was a hole underneath ur engine bay? :P

It wouldn't fit....otherwise i obviously woulda done ti that way

you know, i jsut changed my alternator on my ef. nice thing was i had a lift. so much easier. took about 15 minutes. i love lifts

to take it out underneath you gotta take out the drivers side axel and half shaft.

lol, man, I feel your pain. Pain in the butt to swap those out, aren't they?

Nice pretty colors under the hood And that valve cover looks lovely, haha

Dude, you dont have to take out the master cylinder You dont have to take out the axle Take off your stone shield (plastic stuff) that doesn't do anything anyway and turn your wheel to the left, the alternator will come out. Changed one on a 91 hatch 2 weeks ago. Think smarter not harder.

^... you serious? I didnt completely take out my master cylinder but I did unbolt it/move it. I remember there being just a metal piece blocking the alternator from dropping to the ground

Yes, unless they put stuff in the way on older ones and got rid of it by 91 I am correct. I did this on a 91 EF hatch without any of the headache you guys are talking about.
