Re:almost ...lost an eye!!!
i was puting an exhaust on my hatchback couple of years ago, (my car was lowered), and all I was using to jack the car up was an oem honda jack (bad ------- idea), and yeah as you guessed the ------- car fell on me nearly crushing my scull and my rib cage, the only thing that saved me was two of my buddies were in the garage with me so they were able to jack the car back up and rescue my ***...

$30 worth of good gloves and good goggles/safty, its well worth it to me. even a cheaper pair is always a good thing to have around.

I was pulling on a hose or something with some plyers on my Prelude and as I started pulling as hard as I could, the plyers slipped off and nailed me right above the eye. Coulda blinded myself.
Speaking of hurting yourself, is it me or does stuff seem to hurt less while you're working on a car. i.e. gash your hand open; any other time you'd run around screaming like a girl but if you're working on your ride you just smear some grease on it and call it good.

Speaking of safety. Ever use a carbide bit to cut steel. Metal spinters everywhere. Hurts for days. Gloves are good.
For a few weeks I had orange spots all over my hands and arms where the splinters started to rust. Hello tetnis!

One time working on my 7 I was pulling the Flywheel. the stock flywheel is 22 pounds, I was under it prying on it to get it loose and couldnt get it so i took a stick and pried up just a little and it broke loose and droped a foot down onto my forehead. I still have a starter teeth scar on my forehead.

Re:almost ...lost an eye!!!
tried to loosen some tranny bolt and some how my upper arm hit the wheels lugs and it took a big chunk off.
tried to loosen some suspenion bolt, i put the breaker bar in between my legs and start lifting it, "bam" it break loose and the bar hit my sac really hard.
using a dremel with a steel cutter, it`s one of those that looks kinda like a gear, i was cutting one of the legs off a dizy at maximium speed (30000rpm.) suddenly it slide off an the cutter hit right at the bottom part of my thumb(the meatty part), it made three really deep groove and bleed a lot. LOL

I never really had anything worse than some gashes or deep cuts but yea... you never really notice how much they hurt till you are done and wash your hands!!! I always try to wear gloves when I work but I always take them off or forget to put them on and once I usually get something in my eye after i wash it out I put my googles on, maybe I should get better at putting the saftey equipment on...Matt
