Handle like trash? If it's stock with the original parts still on it then yes it will handle like a 30 year old car. Take any car that old and go rip on it and you'll say the same thing. I love my 75 280z even when it had blown circa 1975 shocks and struts all around and rode like a cadillac. Now with the Illumina's shocks and tokico springs in it and new ES bushing all around it's gonna be like a dream. The S30 is one of the best handling cars for it's age even compared to stuff nowadays. I drove a 350z and was really disappointed with it for how much it costs. I'd take my Z over all my honda's I've ever had hands down. I've owned 2 rex's, 1 EF 4dr, a turbo'd EG 4dr and a turbo'd 92 hatch wiht 3 different kits on it and the the Z is still more fun to drive. Plus I don't have to worry about going outside and finding my Z missing or broken into like when I had my hondas.

Not sure if 300zx counts but i`ve drove a few 91+ 300zx, they are very very stable even at very high speed, BUT they are not that "sharpe" at mild-tight corners, comparing them with FC rx7s, rx7 are very shrape and tail happy, but not as stable at high speed corners, you actually need ***** to fight with that car, unlike the 300zx, every------- one can drive it good and stable, more "user friendly, it gets mad Ty JDM understeering at the limit but once the tail break loose it`s pretty hard to re-gain conrtol.

Also drove the newer 350z/g35 coupe. they handled LIGHT YEAR ahead of the older z, much much more happy to corner, both low and high speed. much sharper and senstive to your input; VERY senstive. with traction control off you can slide the tail much easier then the older Z YET it is always in control if you don`t go stupid, you cna actually feel the rear tire biting/sliding on the gound.

FYI i don`t own any of them but they are my boss/friends car and i`ve always driven them.
Always driven s2K/Miata/SC430/MR2/corolla.

FYI stillnonturbo you are comparing RWD to FWD of course it is fun to drive, too bad i havet`n driven any 280Zs i heard they are very neutral handling and love to slide

Z's if maintained handle very well, my 74 260Z handled half way like ---- but every bushing on that thing was bad, my 300ZX handled great and i loved it, it was just a donor car though so i didnt drive it much

compared to something like an FC/FB/MR2 etc, yeah there a bit sloppy but they get the job done, suspension upgrades help an *** load

well depends on the Z car; there were many flavors of Z car; and they changed every year and as always there were different suspension parts to each.
240z's are light; Z32s are a work of art. There in the middle they got kinda icky but Z cars are great.

Stock however they aren't much to be proud of unless you were living in the 70s

Yes Donald I realize it's like apples to oranges from the Z to the honda's I've owned but even driving a 350z it just felt underpowered and extremely overweight. The S30's are extremely stable cars since it's one car you don't see many people drifting compared to 86's, 7's, S13/14/15's...etc... I"m not saying that that those listed are good handling cars but it required alot more work to drift a S30(240/260/280z). It's one thing you don't really see if you go onto Z boards is alot of talk about drifting since they aren't suite well for it and require alot more effort to do it to other RWD cars. The early Z's I believe to be the best models for there light weight and just overall better looks IMHO. Among the S30 from the 240z to the 280z are pretty much the same car among parts and overall body style. Just subtle changes from engine size to comestic things.

What kind of Z are you talking about? There's 6 different Z models from 1970 to now.

thats if you still have the rear steering enabled. mazda did this for some reason. i dont know why. but if you ever switch lanes really fast going 65, it will feel like your gonna lose ocntrole. but the rear end simply will do that. its easy to dissable it with some bushings.
