Re: aesop rock
It's cool, its not for everyone.
If you like it or not is one thing but this is a guy who is trying to take music back to a time or place where it means something again, not just a business to make money in. If you really want to hear clear cut differences between real hip hop and trash go download some of the Beautiful Mix tape records from Talib. He did some collaborations with Little John and Ludacris, etc... The record label dissolved from no money so he just did live shows and literally made money from selling a few different mix tapes at his shows. You think 50 will do that? nope he'll just suck rebok off a little more and get a check. Listening to Talib do a verse and listing to Ludacris try right after him you can tell you really knows how to do it and who doesn't.
Im all about any rapper who actually has something to say and not just a a bunch of buzz words rymed together. Im tired of seeing people like Solja boy pop up on the scene and folks go ape ---- like he's hot. They never realize he is only a marketing tool just like Ashleey Simpson. They don't write their own material, they are merely an image that the record labels pump out.
*edit I cant find a torrent link to the Beautiful Mix tape DL's. I got em here though so let me get a torrent going and I will link it if anyone is interested.
