Why would I need the head surfaced? I don't think it's warped or anything.

no, the question is why not get it surfaced!!!

answer: it's cheap insurance! it'll be a max of $50 man.

i just dont understand why people will buy a head, and have no questions about it.... like "ohhh, it's perfect"

well, the head was pulled for some reason. i'm not saying that the head is warped or anything, but if it was me, i would automatically do it along w/ put new valve seals in it. because, if i went thru all the work of putting the head on, and buttoning everything up. and the head leaked after warming up, i would be very pissed at myself. and no, i don't like being pissed at myself!

just my $.02 dude.

but there is a saying....
"Caveat Emptor" : buyer beware!

The head was pulled because it was a jdm engine importer.. the engine had low compression in 1 cylender and they had to warrenty the motor for someone. Instead of bothering to rebuild it, they sold it for parts and I bought the head.

You'll use a coke can as charge piping, make your own OBD conversion harness(that was fucked up), chip your own ECU(that was probbaly fucked up too), but you won't drill the holes for the dowel? That's like ------- an HIV patient without a condom after turning her down for a ******* because she has aids.
LOL boost didnt he do the fucked up block posting too? Or was that spenser etc?

it was a carb cleaner can, I don't know for sure that the harness was fucked up, but the probability is very high that it is, I don't think the ecu is fucked up, and if it is it probably happened when some ---- grounded out on my conversion harness and made a spark in the ecu, and I've already done enough ghetto ---- to know how to turn a perfectly good car into a pile of ----, and how to spend money on cheap tools just to have them break and then you have to buy new ones (don't buy rotary tools at checker).

oh ya, and in case you didn't read my thread in retaliation on ht that got deleted, I'm not trying to say that turbo setup is the hottest ---- under the sun, I was just trying to make it work for cheap with some ghetto flair.

and yes I did my own block posting and the holes were a little off, but I don't see anybody else without a bunch of years of experience trying it. people love to hate but they're always slow to show something more impressive. for the most part when the hole was drilled off center, it was still drilled toward the center of the cylinder, the posts fit tangent to the block pretty well, get off my dick.
